What's the purpose of this site?
My main purpose of this site is to share my story as someone who is surviving PTSD. I say surviving instead of survivor because so far there is no known cure for PTSD. I have learned to control my PTSD and not let it control me. I hope that this site helps inform people on what PTSD is by doing the following: giving general information, sharing my story, and sharing things that helped me control my PTSD. I have included a family section for families of people living with PTSD. I think it's important to acknowledge the struggles not only of people living with PTSD but of their family members who can feel helpless at times. My ultimate goal is to raise awareness and to let people that are living with PTSD know that we are not alone.
